Beefing Up Your Power Supply: The Romoss Sense 6 Plus Powerbank Review

Romoss Powerbank attached to smartphone

With smartphone and tablet use becoming more widespread, external batteries are now in demand. Hence, powerbanks of all sizes and capacities—from ones with a basic capacity of 1,500mAh to as much as 10,000mAh—are now readily available. These have made it easier for our phones and devices to last longer, especially on days when we need them the most.

While many high-capacity powerbanks exist, there are some that take this limit off the charts. One such example is the Romoss Sense 6 Plus, which at 20,000mAh more than doubles that capacity. Let’s take a look at what makes this such a noteworthy find.

Unboxing

The first thing you see in the box is the massive, white Romoss Sense 6 Plus. At 6.3 inches long and 3.2 inches wide, you get the impression that this powerbank is built to last for a really long time. It also comes with a microUSB cable so you can start charging your devices right off the bat.

The device also features a backlit LCD display that indicates exactly how much charge is stored within. To switch it on, simply press the button on the side. Charging will begin once you plug the cable into your device’s charging port.

What We Like

There are two things that come to mind with the Romoss Sense 6 Plus: Power capacity and speed. A generous 20,000mAh capacity lets you charge more devices than ever. If you want it done fast, the 5V 2.1A output port is the way to go. For reference, an empty 2,800mAh smartphone battery can be charged in as little as two hours.

This gives the Romoss Sense 6 Plus enough power to charge at least 7 smartphones on average. Since the powerbank also has two ports, it can even charge two devices at once. You can even use it to power different devices, including Bluetooth speakers.

The Quirks

One drawback of this powerbank is its size. At 6.3 inches long and 3.2 inches wide, it’s a device that’s best taken on long vacations where it’s hard to find a socket. You can take it with you in your car for long road trips, or keep it handy at home in case of brownouts.

Another thing is the amount of time it takes to charge it. A normal 5V socket can charge it within 22 hours, but the separately sold Romoss AC12 iCharger can do the job in almost half the time.

The Verdict

The Romoss Sense 6 Plus is one solid powerbank. It has more than enough power to quickly charge your smartphone at least five times over and your tablet at least twice. You can even charge both if needed, though you have to decide which device gets the faster charging port. All things considered, this is one highly recommended buy if you’re looking for a high-capacity powerbank.
